2 Men Heralded For 'Their Incredible Bravery' In Milford

MILFORD, CT — The city is recognizing two men who intervened in a medical emergency "for their incredible bravery."

Paul Plavcan and Johnny Hernandez were at ALDI when a customer began choking. Plavcan alerted Hernandez, who performed the life-saving Heimlich maneuver.

"Thanks to their quick thinking, a near-tragic event was averted," the city wrote in a Facebook post.

The grateful individual reached out to Mayor Tony Giannattasio to honor Plavcan and Hernandez for their dedication to others.

"Milford is lucky to have such caring individuals in our community. As such, Mayor Giannattasio issued a proclamation to Johnny and Paul in recognition of their life-saving efforts," the post reads.
