2 People Illegally Towed Vehicles, Made Owners Pay: Milford PD
Police say the accuseds would tow the vehicles and then make the owners pay to get them back.

MILFORD, CT — Milford Police say they have arrested two people for illegally towing vehicles. In October 2017, Milford Police received several complaints about possible illegal towing of vehicles. Investigation showed that on October 1, 2, and 3, 2017 motor vehicles had been towed by Steve’s Auto, 219 Naugatuck Avenue, police said.
The vehicles had been towed without anyone asking for the vehicles to be towed and subsequently the vehicle owners were over charged to get their vehicles back from the company, police said. Representatives from Steve’s Auto, Nicole Berg, 24, of Naugatuck Avenue, and Stephen Verity, 27, of Stoddard Place, Beacon Falls were developed as the responsible parties involved in the towing of the vehicles, police said.

Berg and Verity were released on Promise to Appear in Milford Court on Feb. 6.
