38-Year-Old Message In Bottle Found On Charles Island In Milford
The message was found by stroke of luck during a recent tree replanting.

MILFORD, CT — A 38-year-old message in a bottle was recently unearthed at Charles Island, and the hope is it will be reunited with the family.
The bottle was found during the most recent reforestation planting on the island. Charles Island Reforestation, headed by Milford resident Bob Purcell, has been working toward planting 1,000 trees on the island.
“We are digging around areas that are overgrown with weeds and the backhoe just dug into something,” Purcell said.
