7 Injured In Boating Accident; Milford Fire Assists With Rescue
The accident occurred in Stratford and several agencies responded including the Milford Fire Department.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Fire Department assisted in responding to a boating accident which left seven people injured including four children.
At 7:07 p.m. Friday, the Milford 911 Communications Center received a request for mutual aid assistance from the Stratford Fire Department, fire officials said. A 30 foot boat had run aground in the Housatonic River near Caswell Cove in Milford, and several people on the boat were injured, officials said.
The Milford Fire Department responded with Marine 1 and Marine 2. The Stratford Fire Department, Shelton Fire Department, and Sikorsky Fire Department responded with their marine units.

When Milford's marine units arrived at the boat’s location, rescue crews needed to enter the water to access the vessel and evaluate the injured boaters, officials said.
The injured were transported to the Naugatuck Avenue boat ramp and evaluated by Milford paramedics. Seven individuals (three adults and four children) were transported to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation.
