9,600 Ducks Swim in Downtown Milford [VIDEO]

The 5th Annual Milford Harbor Duck Race drew a big crowd as several thousand plastic ducks competed for glory.

"It was a fantastic turnout," said Milford Harbor Duck Race organizer Patrice Attolino. Attolino believes that 9,600 ducks were released into the Wepawaug River next to Sunday afternoon.

Over 200 vendors were at the event, including official duck merchandise for sale and a number of food vendors, such  and .

The Duck Race is organized every year by  and this year benefited such groups as the , and the , in addition to St. Gabriel's School.
