CONNECTICUT — Connecticut will see some snow Monday morning and late Tuesday but it may not amount to much at all. A coating of snow is forecast for the Monday morning commute.

Earlier on Sunday it appeared that chances were increasing that Connecticut would see accumulating snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. The Weather Channel even had Connecticut getting between three to five inches of snow.

In a late Sunday update, the Weather Channel has dropped Connecticut to an inch of snow accumulation for late Tuesday. The reason for the drop is due to the fact that the "storm" should move through very fast and there won't be a lot of time for the snow to accumulate.

"Snowfall totals in the Northeast should be light since the area of low pressure will move through quickly and much of its moisture might remain offshore," The Weather Channel says.

The National Weather Service is forecasting even less snow if that is possible. "Chance of precipitation is 70 (percent). New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible," the National Weather Service predicts.

Original story posted Sunday morning:

CONNECTICUT — Weather forecasts can change quickly as we know, especially in New England, and this appears to be the case concerning Tuesday into Wednesday. There has been discussion the past couple of days concerning a chance for some light rain and snow showers Tuesday into Wednesday, but no real accumulation was initially expected.

And now as of Sunday morning, it appears that new data shows a chance for accumulating snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. Fox 61 Meteorologist Sam Sampieri shared the news on social media. He of course stressed that much can change between now and Tuesday night.

Sampieri is pinpointing Tuesday night after 8 p.m. for when Connecticut may see moderate snow begin.

The Weather Channel is also now talking about the chance for accumulating snow in Connecticut late Tuesday and into Wednesday.

"By Tuesday night, light snow will move through parts of New York and much of New England. The immediate coast of the mid-Atlantic and southern New England could see a rain-and-snow mix or rain. Precipitation shouldn't last too long in any one spot since this system will move through rather quickly," according to the Weather Channel.

The Weather Channel shows most of Connecticut getting three to five inches of snow. Again, we'll see. It's just something to keep a close eye on. Patch will continue to update this potentially snowy forecast.

Snow Chance Monday AM Too, Not Much Though

The National Weather Service says there is a 30 percent chance of snow showers between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. Monday and a quick coating of snow is possible. It could lead to some isolated slippery conditions on the roads for the morning commute.
