Throughout his active life, Bob enjoyed countless hobbies and interests, but above all else, he loved all things aviation. From an early age, he was hooked on airplanes, pursuing that passion both professionally and as a hobby. He could identify nearly any aircraft overhead simply by the sound of its engines, and until his last days, whenever he heard an airplane pass, he instinctively looked up.

Bob was born January 19, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio and spent his early years in the greater Pittsburgh area where he was educated and met his high school sweetheart and wife of 68 years, Marlene. Following high school, Bob served in the National Guard until beginning his career in aviation at Goodyear Aerospace before relocating with his young family to Connecticut to join Avco Lycoming in Stratford. While raising three daughters, he earned his BS and MBA from the University of New Haven and finished his distinguished career at Canadair Bombardier. He dedicated many years of his retirement to sharing his knowledge of aircraft maintenance with the next generation as well as endless hours helping to restore and preserve aviation history.
