American Idol's Nick Fradiani Jr. to Perform with Andy Grammer on Tuesday's Live Show

On Mother's Day, Fradiani placed numerous phone calls to mothers all across the state.

American Idol Season 14 has been a series of ups for Connecticut native Nick Fradiani Jr., who is now in the competition’s Top 3.

After receiving much praise for his performance of Andy Grammer’s “Back Home,” Fradiani recently learned he will perform with the prominent singer-songwriter during this week’s finale, according to an article from Fox CT.

Fradiani, 29, and Grammer will reprise “Back Home” together, and will also perform Grammer’s latest single “Honey, I’m Good,” which will air this Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

Grammer joins a list of high-profile performers who are scheduled for this week’s finale, including Steven Tyler, Chris Brown, The Jacksons, New Kids on the Block, Ricky Martin and more, FoxCT reported.

To thank his supporters, Fradiani took to social media this past Sunday and requested fans send him phone numbers of mothers for him to call to wish them a Happy Mother’s Day. (Watch the video below of Nick calling mothers across the state)

“I had so much fun calling Mom’s today, might have to become a tradition,” Fradiani wrote on Facebook.

Fradiani apologized for not being able to call every phone number he was sent. He said there’s “not enough hours in the day with rehearsal,” to call everyone, especially since he reportedly received over 2,000 phone numbers.

“I appreciate all you have done to support me and know that I will never forget this,” he wrote.

The American Idol Final 2 will be chosen this Tuesday night between Fradiani, Clark Beckham and Jax. Voting for each contestant remains open until Tuesday, May 12 at 12 p.m.

More than 10,000 people packed the Guilford Green earlier this month for a parade and live concert by Fradiani, 29, who has ties to Guilford, East Haven, Milford, and West Haven.

Fox announced on Monday, May 11 that Season 14 will be the second-to-last season for American Idol, according to an article from CNN.

After Season 15, Fox will terminate its once top-rated non-sports related program, according to the article.

This announcement comes two days before the Season 14 finale, an episode that has generated the best ratings in past years for American Idol, according to CNN.
