MILFORD, CT — A man has been charged in a sexual assault case in Plainville, according to police.
Allen Bates, 62, of Milford, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16.
Plainville police began an investigation Feb. 1 into a reported sexual assault.
Following a lengthy investigation, police obtained a warrant for Bates' arrest.
Bates turned himself in to police Wednesday afternoon.
He was held on $150,000 cash/surety bond. He is scheduled for arraignment at Danielson Superior Court on Thursday.
