Jeanne Cancellieri passed away peacefully on May 17th after relentlessly and courageously battling multiple illnesses for many years.

Jeanne was deeply devoted to her only daughter, Tara Leigh, of whom she was immensely proud. She created magical holidays and unforgettable birthdays for Tara and the whole family, and her creativity, love of crafts, and talent for decorating leave behind cherished traditions and lasting memories for all who knew her. One of the greatest moments of her life was becoming a grandmother to Rocky and Meadow, the grandchildren she had always dreamed of having.

Jeanne began her career at Van Heusen, where she met her husband, John. Together they shared 38 years of marriage. After starting a family, Jeanne chose to dedicate herself fully to raising her daughter, a role she treasured deeply.

She was actively involved in the communities at Our Lady of the Assumption School and Notre Dame, where she formed lasting friendships and meaningful connections over the years. Born in New York and raised in Piscataway, Jeanne was a devoted Mets fan who brought warmth, enthusiasm, and kindness to everything she loved.

Although Jeanne often wished she had traveled more, the trips she did take brought her tremendous joy from long road trips down the East Coast with John to visits with family in London. She loved experiencing new places, people, and cultures wherever she went.

Jeanne strongly believed in helping others and supporting causes that served the greater good. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she took great pride in giving back to her community whenever she could.

Jeanne was the middle child among her six siblings: Richard, Kenneth, Lawrence, Christopher, Frank, and Kelly. In addition to her husband and daughter, she leaves behind her son-in law Sam, her sisters-in-law, Wen and Debby; seven nephews; one niece; and her two beloved grandchildren.

For the past two and a half years, Jeanne resided at the Civita Care Center in Milford, Connecticut. Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff for their warmth, friendship, and boundless compassion. They also wish to thank the staff of Yale New Haven Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital for the care and support they provided.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
