Contractor Charged In Home Improvement Fraud Case, Milford Police Say

A man has been charged after police say he caused a victim to be out of thousands of dollars.

MILFORD, CT — A home improvement contractor has been charged in a fraud case, according to Milford police.

Fredy Lopez De Leon, 34, of New Haven, was charged with first-degree larceny and failure to refund amount of paid home improvement.

Police said he is accused of "committing home improvement fraud by not properly finishing work, causing the victim to be out of over $25,000."

Police took custody of De Leon on May 22.

He was held on $100,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on Tuesday.
