Visconti Secures Nomination For State House Seat In Milford (patch.com) — Milford residents will see a new name on the ballot as Republican Steve Visconti secures his party’s unanimous nomination for the 118th House District. Emphasizing taxpayer protection, public safety, and community-focused leadership, he positions his campaign as a push for stronger Milford representation in Hartford.
2. Chick-Fil-A Plans For Milford Shopping Plaza Move Forward: Report (patch.com) — A long-debated Chick-fil-A at Milford Crossing is moving ahead after the city’s Planning and Zoning Board approved a settlement with the plaza’s owners. Updated plans address traffic and safety concerns, clearing the way for Milford’s first Chick-fil-A and adding another regional draw along the Boston Post Road.
3. Fatal Shooting Under Investigation In Milford: Police (patch.com) — Milford police are investigating a deadly early-morning shooting on the 800 block of East Broadway that left one person dead and a woman hospitalized. Officers found both victims inside a home, which is now an active crime scene, and are asking anyone with information to contact detectives as the investigation continues.
4. Milford Fire Chief Announces Retirement (patch.com) — Milford residents are seeing a major change in public safety leadership as Fire Chief Anthony Fabrizi retires after 32 years of service to the city. Hired in 1993 and appointed chief in 2023, Fabrizi was honored at a farewell gathering while Mayor Richard Smith praised his dedication to protecting Milford’s residents, businesses, and visitors.
