MILFORD, CT — Silver Sands State Park in Milford is closed Wednesday, according to the state.
The closure comes following bacteria test results, which are conducted weekly from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
The tests are conducted by Department of Energy and Environmental Protection staff and analyzed at a Department of Public Health lab to detect the presence of certain indicator bacteria.
When a closure occurs, a retest is scheduled the next day.
It was one of three state park beaches closed Wednesday. The others include Rocky Neck State Park (West Beach) in Niantic and Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.
More information is available at the state parks website.
