Jeffrey C. Wellner

Jeffrey Charles Wellner of Seymour passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was born December 21, 1950 in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Katherine Wellner.

Jeffrey worked as a truck driver for Hartley and Parker in Stratford for many years until an injury left him unable to continue driving. He then operated his own business Tiny’s Tasty Treats until his retirement. He had a wonderful sense of humor and filled his days collecting movies of all genres. If you asked him about a particular movie, he most likely had it in his collection. Jeffrey was a huge sports fanatic and loved all teams New York with the exception of the Mets. Go Yankees! He was also a die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan. Jeffrey’s pride and joy was his 1973 Chevy Camaro Z28 which he referred to as his “Crown Jewel.”

Jeffrey will be sadly missed by his brother Gregory Wellner and his wife Dana of Seymour, his sister Suzanne Wellner of Milford, and cousins: Robert Haydu of Ohio and Harry Luther, Jr. of Huntington.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 23, 2026 between 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Gregory Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Graveside service will take place in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 11:00am. Please meet directly at the cemetery.

The Wellner Family would like to thank the staff of Shady Knoll Health Center and the Griffin Hospital ICU for the amazing care provided to Jeffrey during his illness. Their kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.
