John E. Wildman

John E. Wildman, age 82, of Milford, beloved husband of 59 years to Louise (Gillotti) Wildman, entered into peaceful rest on July 24, 2026. He was born on September 8, 1943, in Bridgeport. John was the son of the late Russell E. and Irma C. (Mead) Wildman.

He proudly served his country as a MP and paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. Following his military service, John worked as a lineman foreman for SNET for more than 27 years. He later continued his career with KTI Utility Construction until his retirement.

John was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. John's greatest joy in life was being called, "Pop Pop", by his grandchildren. He cherished every opportunity to cheer them on at all their sporting events. He was an avid fan of the New York Jets, UCONN men's basketball, and Florida State University football.

John enjoyed antique cars, especially his 1955 Thunderbird and attending Carlisle car shows with friends. He also enjoyed time spent with his dog, Summer, and trips to the casino. He was a proud member of the VFW Devon Post #7788. He will be most remembered for his friendly smile and his helping hand to everyone he knew.

In addition to his devoted wife, Louise, John is survived by his loving children, Kimberly L. Wildman of Milford and Jill C. Matos and her husband, Robert, of Oxford; his three grandchildren, Brendan A. Matos, Allie C. Matos, and Rachel A. Matos; his brothers- and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister.
