Lynn Buchmiller Novicki, beloved wife of Dr. David C. Novicki passed away on July 26, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted mother of Ted, Alex (Piper), and Nic (Teale) as well as loving grandmother to Ben, Henry, Marley, and Rose Novicki.
She's also survived by her sister, Joanne Dargan (Robert) and brother, Gordon Buchmiller Jr. (Laurel) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Doris Snyder Buchmiller.
A longtime resident of Orange, she graduated from Lauralton Hall, received her BS degree from Regis College and her masters and sixth-year degree in School psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. She spent her career educating children and serving as a school psychologist for over 40 years. She was always known to be the first one to help anyone in need whether it be at her job or people within her family or her friends.
Lynn had many interests throughout her life; travel, tennis, golf, biking, book group, skiing, dominoes and she was an accomplished bridge player and loved the game. She had many wonderful friends who shared these activities, including her devoted sister Joanne.
Lynn had great faith and was active in her parish, Holy Infant. She was a well-loved CCD teacher and Eucharist minister at Yale-Saint Raphael's Hospital.
Lynn was a great cook and multi tasker. She and David would host elaborate dinner parties for friend's family.
Lynn's greatest joy was spending time with her family, cherishing her grandchildren, and making time with them very special.
Lynn holds a special place in so many hearts for her warm and generous nature, her positive outlook, and ability to bring out the best in all that knew her.
Family and friends are invited to gather at her wake on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd., Orange CT 06776 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will be held privately by the family at a future date.
