Passenger Exits Moving Car On I-95 In Milford: State Police

New details have been released concerning an incident that occurred on I-95 in Milford.

UPDATE: State Police say an adult passenger exited a moving vehicle on Interstate 95 northbound in Milford on Thursday afternoon.

"After separating from the vehicle, this individual came to an uncontrolled final rest on the roadway," state police said. "According to witnesses, this individual was not struck by any vehicles."

The patient was subsequently transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

"Based upon the information learned during the course of this investigation, there was no collision and no criminal aspect. This incident has been re-categorized as a medical assist," state police said.

Original post: MILFORD, CT — An accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian has closed down two lanes on I-95 northbound in Milford, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The left and center lanes of the highway are shut down between exits 38 and 39A, state police said Thursday at about 12:45 p.m.

The lane closures have led to over 3 miles of traffic congestion, according to the DOT.

Police said drivers should use extra caution if traveling in the area.
