MILFORD, CT — A man was charged with DUI after police said he was involved in a crash that left a 12-year-old with life-threatening injuries.
Police responded to a report of a car versus bike accident in the area of Welchs Point Road and Midwood Road at 11:42 a.m. Sunday.
An investigation found that a black Subaru Forester was driving north on Welchs Point Road when it struck the rear of an electric bicycle that was going in the same direction, police said.
The juvenile bike rider suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital.
The Subaru's driver, Robert Norden, 60, of Milford, failed field sobriety tests and was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
He posted $5,000 bond.
