Details Released On Milford Lobster Roll Festival

The popular event celebrates Milford's history as the birthplace of the hot buttered lobster roll.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Regional Lobster Roll Festival will return to Walnut Beach for its second year on Sunday, Sept. 20.

The festival celebrates Milford's history as the birthplace of the hot buttered lobster roll. Perry's Restaurant introduced the dish in Milford in 1929, according to the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce, which is organizing the event.

Stonebridge Restaurant and Nautilus, both in Milford, are among the restaurants scheduled to serve lobster rolls. The Breakwall and Moby Dick's, both in West Haven, will also participate.

Other food vendors will include Hot Smoke Bacon, Walnut Beach Creamery, Real Fruit Ice Cream, Chef Anthony Foster, Silver Sands Pizza, Doc's Lemonade, Wild Sips and Paradise Island Food.

The festival will also feature live music from Rum Runners, Lost Marbles and Pretty Nasty. A headlining performer will be announced later.

An expanded artist pavilion will showcase local artists and craftspeople. Scheduled vendors include Embers of Faith, IzzyBella Emporium, By the Sea Shop, author Peggy Sue and Angels of Mine. Kinship Glassworks will offer live glassblowing demonstrations.

Children's activities provided by The Giggling Pig, along with additional games and family entertainment, are also planned.

A beverage garden will serve beer from Tribus Beer Co. and Soundview Brewing, along with wine and specialty drinks. A separate VIP tent will offer covered seating and wait service.

"The Lobster Roll Festival has quickly become one of the region's most anticipated events," Chamber Director of Membership & Marketing Simon McDonald said in a statement. "It's a fantastic way to celebrate our coastal communities while supporting local restaurants, artists, nonprofits, and small businesses. We're excited to continue growing this event into an annual tradition that attracts visitors from throughout Connecticut and beyond."

Lobster roll tickets and VIP admission can be purchased in advance through the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce website. Space in the VIP area is limited.
