MILFORD, CT — Police have arrested a second suspect who was charged with murder in connection to a shooting that left one person dead and another injured in June.

Ivan Barias-Florimon, 24, of the Bronx, was arrested in New York City with the assistance of U.S. Marshals.

He is currently being held in New York while awaiting extradition to Connecticut.

Once in custody, Milford police said he will be charged with murder, murder in commission of a felony, home invasion and first-degree assault.

On June 3, a 69-year-old woman called 911 around 3 a.m. and said that two men had entered her East Broadway home. The intruders had come in through a rear sliding door, police said.

The woman was shot in the head and injured. She has since left the hospital and is recovering, according to police.

Her husband, Frederick Werner, 69, was shot and killed.

Local police and federal marshals previously arrested another suspect in the case. Stuar Lopez-Reyes, 25, was arrested Thursday night in New Haven.

Lopez-Reyes was charged with murder, murder in commission of a felony, home invasion and first-degree assault of an elderly person.

He was held on $3 million bond.

Police Chief Keith Mello said in a press conference Friday that the "horrific" crime "shocked and terrorized this family and community."

Police said that license plate recognition cameras played a "vital" role in identifying the vehicle and suspects involved in the crime.

The investigation remains ongoing.
