William A. Springsteen Jr, 89, of Milford, CT, passed away on August 6, 2026.

William lived a full life, traveling around the country with wife, dancing, fishing and boating.

William A. Springsteen Jr, 89, of Milford, CT, beloved husband of the late Carol Ann Springsteen, passed away on August 6, 2026. Born on March 9, 1937, in Milford, CT, he was the son of the late William A. and Maryann (Farnsworth) Springsteen.

William was born and raised in the Devon borough of Milford where he loved being around boats and learned how to skillfully maneuver them. Right after graduating from Milford High School, he married the love of his life, Carol, and made Milford his home, here he built a life centered on family, hard work, and service to others. He joined the Navy stationed in Key West Florida. After the Navy he worked as a Fire Protection Engineer for many years. Later he worked as a maintenance worker at the Milford Board of Education and earned the respect of coworkers through his skill, dependability, and unwavering work ethic. He volunteered as a firefighter at Station Five in Woodmont and became first lieutenant.Then he joined the Auxiliary Coast guard in Milford and became Flotilla 73 Commander.

William lived a full life, traveling around the country with wife, dancing, fishing and boating. After retiring, he and his wife spent the winter in Cortez, Florida. He was a devoted member of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, where he remained active for many years, generously sharing his time, talents, and enthusiasm. He made many good friends through the parishioner's group and every Sunday after the church service him and wife would go to dinner and enjoy breakfast with them the church became an important part of his life.

William will be remembered as a true gentleman whose steady presence, wisdom, and devotion enriched the lives of so many. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. He will be immensely missed and forever remembered. Dear dad, your legacy of strength, love, and wisdom will continue guiding us forever.

William is survived by his children, Douglas William Springsteen (Marie), Brian David Springsteen (Ruby), Cheryl Ann Wright (William), Janet Ellen Marx (Jeff), He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian, Ashley, Kevin, Justin, Sarah, Willow, and Paige. William is also survived by six great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Other than his beloved wife Carol of 69 years of marriage, and his parents, William is predeceased by his two brothers Stanley and George Springsteen.

There will be a memorial service in William's Honor at Saint Peter's Church 71 River Street, Milford, CT 06460 on September 5th at 11:00am Friends and Family
