David Paul Labbe, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 18, 2026.

David Paul Labbe, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 18, 2026 after a brief illness.

Dave was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Texas, Japan and Virginia and was proud to have served his country.Dave was a long-time resident of both Stratford and Milford, CT. He worked for more than 30 years at Fairco HVAC in Fairfield, CT. He was a member of United Association Local 777 Plumbers & Pipefitters for 47 years as well as the VFW Post 9460 in Stratford CT.

After retirement, one of his favorite things to do was grab a coffee and head to Gulf Beach to sit by the water and enjoy the ocean, it was one of his favorite places. In his younger days, he also loved to drop anchor from his boat and do some fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and neighbors where he is endearingly remembered for his jokes, fast wit, friendliness, wiliness to keep an eye out and lend a hand. Dave loved dogs, boats, cool cars, the ocean and music. He was always the coolest guy in the room, quick to crack jokes and make you laugh.His final moments were spent with his daughters at his bedside listening to songs from his favorite band The Eagles and was quickly followed by a brilliant display of fireworks outside of his window; his last cool move.

Dave was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Laurier Labbe and his brother Daniel Labbe.Dave is survived by his daughters Tracy Labbe and Jennifer Aldrich (Ken), his sister Joline Cleary (Scottsdale AZ), four grandchildren Molly Weathered, Zachary Labbe, Jeremy Labbe and Abigail Aldrich, two great grandchildren Grayson Labbe and Kaylee Labbe, and three nephews Edward Cleary (Jean), Robert Cleary (Shannon), and Daniel Labbe.

He will be interred at Saint Mary Cemetery in Milford Connecticut with a military honors graveyard service at a later date. We hope he has a view of the ocean, a good fishing spot and rests peacefully.
