MILFORD, CT — Jazz Downtown is coming up in Milford this weekend. The event will be Saturday, Oct. 3, all day long on three outdoor stages.
General admission to the event is free with a suggested donation of $25 for the Milford Arts Council.
Artists including Grammy-Award winner Zaccai Curtis, Cuban band leader Chino Pons and saxophonist and composer Jimmy Greene will be performing.
Shows during the daytime hours will be at the Parsons Plaza Patio, Lisman Landing Marina and the Stonebridge Restaurant patio.
There will also be an evening concert featuring trombonist Wycliffe Gordon and opener Tina Fabrique at the Parsons Veterans Memorial Auditorium. The show will feature the music of jazz icons Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Tickets start at $34.
Dance classes in salsa, tango, swing, foxtrot and more will also be offered throughout the day for $30 per person per class.
