AnneMarie C. Paone-Mullin, 72, of Woodbridge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3rd, surrounded by her loving family. AnneMarie was born on July 23, 1954 in New Haven, CT to the late Michael and Elizabeth "Bette" Paone. She was the beloved wife of 51 years to the love of her life Gary Mullin.

AnneMarie was a woman of remarkable intelligence, determination, strength, and grace. A graduate of West Haven High School (Class of 1972), she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Yale University in 1976 and was a proud member of the University's first fully matriculated class of women. She later earned her M.B.A. from the University of New Haven and her J.D. from the University of Bridgeport.

AnneMarie practiced law for 35 years, first in her own practice, Paone-Mullin and Kurata, LLC, and then transitioned into human resources and labor relations for various organizations, including St. Francis Home for Children and the City of West Haven. She proudly finished her career serving more than a decade with the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice in the Chief State's Attorney's office, where trusted colleagues became treasured friends.

In 1975, she married her love and fellow Yale Bulldog, Gary. Together they raised their two daughters, who were her whole world and her greatest joy. She loved them fiercely, deeply, and openly, always protecting, encouraging, and supporting them through every accomplishment and challenge.

AnneMarie enjoyed a lifelong love of music and Broadway. In her younger years, AnneMarie loved being on stage and performing in local theater, most memorably as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, and singing with her brother's band, The Mike Paone Trio. She was a die-hard Yankees fan, and enjoyed many afternoons with her daughters in the Bronx, stopping by Stan's before joining the other "bleacher creatures" to cheer on her men in pinstripes. She was a member of the Paugusset Club in Orange for almost 40 years, where she treasured time with family and friends, especially no cook nights and Friday happy hours filled with espresso martinis and laughter.

AnneMarie was happiest surrounded by her family, given and chosen. Her greatest passion was cooking Sunday dinners, hosting holidays, and continuing family traditions. All who knew her knew there was always a seat for them around her dining room table.

AnneMarie was a woman of deep faith and strong convictions. She lived with strength and purpose, championing women's rights, and giving generously of herself. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, laughter, devotion, and faith.

In addition to her beloved husband, AnneMarie is survived by their two cherished daughters Garan Mullin (Matt Wyrostek) and Ariana Mullin, her siblings: sister Vicki Grande (Phil), sister-in-law Joanne Gill (Mike), brother-in-law Mike Mullin (Kim), and sister-in-law Nancy Paone, her nieces and nephews: Elise Archibald (Joe), Michael Paone (Lauren), Krista Kopf (Tim), Philip Grande, Jr. (Michele), Jeff Grande (Holly), Justin Grande (Deb), Michael Grande (Lisa), Carrie Evans (David), Melody Paone, and Jonah Paone, and her great nieces and nephews, Alyssa Golde (Matt), Hayley Ransick (Jack), Payton Coppola (Geno), Abi Kopf, Ben Kopf, Kyle Grande, Avery Grande, Gabby Grande, Michael Paone, Londyn Evans, Liana Grande, Natalie Grande, Ethan Grande, Cece Grande, and Lynslee Evans. She also leaves behind her two beloved "granddogs" Sauce and Rookie, who were spoiled by her beyond measure, as well as additional family on the West Coast and in Watertown/Boston. She is predeceased by her brother Michael Paone.

AnneMarie left the world with the same dignity, grace, and strength with which she lived her life. She and her family would like to thank the devoted staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, Smilow Guilford, and Smilow North Haven for their kindness, compassion, and care for her and her family. In particular, she and her family give their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the incredible nursing and PCA staff at Smilow EP5-5 (especially CJ, Erin, Meagan, Sammy, and Olga), and her doctors, who she and her family credit for giving them the amount of time they were able to have: Dr. Motomedinia, Dr. Muniraj, Dr. Kunstman, Dr. LaSala, Dr. Ninia, Dr. Johung, Dr. Farrell, Dr. Challa, and Dr. Wang.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Church- Precious Blood Parish, 70 Gulf Street, Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).

The family kindly request that those attending the funeral mass wear something red, AnneMarie's favorite color, as a tribute to her beautiful life.
