MILFORD, CT — Milford's Zoning Board of Appeals takes up electric vehicle chargers at the Pilot travel center on Old Gate Lane, fall bulk waste pickup begins and the Flood and Erosion Control Board reviews drainage work at Point Beach and Walnut Beach.

1. ZBA Weighs EV Chargers At Pilot, Broad Street Apartments

Where: City Hall Auditorium, 110 River St.
What to know: The Zoning Board of Appeals will hear a request from Pilot Travel Centers LLC for a variance to put accessory uses within 25 feet of the front lot line at 433 Old Gate Lane, where plans show electric vehicle charging with two 350-kilowatt dispensers, according to the agenda. Par Walk LLC is seeking variances to allow first-floor residential use at 60 Broad St. and nine bedrooms where six are permitted, converting first-floor office space. The board will also hear 19 Melba Street LLC's request for setback variances for a new house with a pool, held over from September, and setback variances at 29 Rock Road and 851 East Broadway.

2. Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Begins
When: Starts Monday, Oct. 12, for households with Monday garbage pickup
Where: City offices, 70 W. River St.
What to know: The city's fall bulk waste collection starts the week of Oct. 12 for households whose garbage is picked up on Mondays, according to the city. Tuesday households follow on Oct. 19, Thursday households on Oct. 26 and Friday households on Nov. 2. Items should go out no earlier than the Saturday before. Small items must be bagged, yard waste goes in paper bags, brush must be bundled in lengths of 4 feet or less, and there is a limit of four tires. Questions go to Public Works at 203-783-3265.

3. Flood Board Reviews Point Beach, Walnut Beach Projects
When: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 7 p.m.
Where: Online via Zoom (link on the agenda); city offices, 70 W. River St.
What to know: The Flood and Erosion Control Board will review drainage projects at Point Beach, the Pelham Street public access stair project, the Gulf Street, Welches Point Road and bluff area, Wildemere and Walnut Beach, and stormwater outfalls from Viscount Drive and Walnut Beach to Sixth Avenue, according to the agenda. Unfinished business includes beach sand from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and sand at the Great Creek outfall.
