Milford's Pilgrim Furniture City Recognized for Energy Efficiency Best Practices

As part of the Energize Connecticut initiative, the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund recently honored Pilgrim Furniture City with an Energy Efficiency Leadership Award for its energy sustainability and environmental stewardship efforts.

Pilgrim Furniture City implemented the Energy Efficiency Fund’s Energy Opportunities Program, which is designed for businesses that are looking to replace existing, inefficient equipment with high-efficiency alternatives.  Pilgrim Furniture City converted all of the lighting in its Milford showroom to cost-effective and energy-efficient light-emitting diode (LED) technology.  The store is projected to save approximately $65,440 per year from these lighting upgrades.

In addition, the Energy Efficiency Fund presented Pilgrim Furniture City with an incentive amount of $24,820 for employing energy-efficient technologies and practices into its business.
