Anna E. Schreiner, 94 of Shelton, formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025
Anna found joy in tending to her garden, took pride in her welcoming home, showered her family in love, and had a strong unwavering faith.

Anna Elisabeth Schreiner, 94 of Shelton, formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, surrounded by her family. Anna was born on July 16, 1930, in Ostentrop, Germany, to the late Franz and Anna Englemann Homberg. She was the beloved wife of Philip Joseph Schreiner.
Anna endured a difficult early life in Germany, surviving the hardships of World War II before immigrating to the United States at the age of 25 in pursuit of a better life. Her greatest dream was to create a safe, loving, and secure home for her family. She worked in New York as a housekeeper and cook, and it was there that she met Philip and began their family, before moving to Milford in 1987.
She was a devoted parishioner of both St. Mary Church in Milford and Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Derby, finding peace and purpose in her spiritual life.
A true lover of nature, Anna found joy in tending to her garden, especially her cherished pink peonies and roses, and couldn’t wait to plant her vegetables every spring. Known affectionately as “Oma,” she created lasting memories through her cooking and baking, shared raspberry-picking adventures, and afternoon tea parties with her granddaughter. Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
