Swim Across the Sound is back — with more swimmers than ever — and we’re looking for boat captains to help guide participants safely from start to finish.
Boaters are needed for various roles – Escort boats, Perimeter boats, Buoy boats, Jet skis and Kayaks

- Escort boats are the most crucial. Swimmers are on board your boat as you ensure safe passage along Long Island Sound.
- Perimeter boats help maintain the course to Black Rock Harbor and travel on the outside of the escort boats.
- Buoy boats are needed to deploy and retrieve buoys marking the course. The deployment takes place before and after the race.
- Medical, Media & Committee Boats travel outside the perimeter and transport our important crew members.
- Jet skis & Kayakers are needed along the course & Black Rock Harbor to assist & guide swimmers. Learn more!
