Barbara Bendlak, 82, of Milford, passed away September 5, 2024.
There was always something going on at the Bendlak house, Barb's door was always open, and she was always happy to see you.

Barbara (Bogaczyk) Bendlak, 82, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Peter Bendlak, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Born on March 1st, 1942, in West Hazleton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sophia Bogaczyk.
Barbara grew up in West Hazleton, PA before moving to Bridgeport when she was a teenager. She attended Harding High School, graduating in 1960. After high school, Barb worked at Remington Arms in Bridgeport. She met Pete, the love of her life, and they were married 60 years ago, on September 5th, 1964.
Barb moved to a new home in Milford in 1966 where she raised her children, managed the books for Pete’s bars, and always welcomed friends, family, and neighbors for visits. There was always something going on at the Bendlak house —Barb’s door was always open, and she was always happy to see you. Barb loved having family and friends together. She hosted large, loving holiday parties and over-the-top July 4th picnics. All the neighborhood kids knew where Barb’s snack drawer was, and everyone was welcome to help themselves. Barb remained in the family home that she created the rest of her life.
Barb worked as a bookkeeper for Family Garage in Bridgeport for 32 years from 1986 to 2018. She was full-time but she usually arrived sometime between 10-11am and left by 3-4pm. She said they didn’t mind because she was late for everything. After retirement Barb remained busy —it is believed that she is responsible for the immense growth of QVC.
Barb is survived by her daughter Lisa Marie DeBiase (Dean), sons Peter Bendlak (Sandra), and Christopher (Diana Beilin), grandchildren Nicholas and Madison DeBiase, Justin and Jillian Bendlak and Greyson Bendlak, several nieces and nephews and her besties, Terri Pacelli and Barbara Gaydos. The family would like to extend their gratefulness to the warm and caring team in the MICU at Milford Hospital.
