William Robert Brown Sr., age 83, beloved husband of 63 years to Linda (Rosenbaum) Brown of North Haven, entered peaceful rest surrounded by his family on 9/27/25. He was born on February 4,1942 in Knox, PA and was the son of the late Harry Kelly Brown Sr. and Eleita (Bennison) Brown. William was a Lieutenant for the Milford Police for over 30 years and later worked for the Department of Public Works in Greenwich, CT.
William served 6 years US Navy and reserves. His many hobbies included his Lilly pond, fish tanks, mineral collecting, scuba diving for the Milford Police Department, flying airplanes, riding with the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, sailing, motor boating and fishing.
In addition to his devoted wife, William leaves behind his 3 loving children, Lisa Muir (Kimberly Morgan), Colleen C. Gibbons (Paige Matthews), William R. Brown Jr. (Karen Brown) and four grandchildren, Cody and Christopher Gibbons and Bryce and Caitlin Brown. He also leaves behind his nieces Carol-Jeanne Shaw and Linda Hinklein and nephews Harry Kelly Brown III, James and Kenneth Brown, brothers-in-law, Ronald J. Rosenbaum and Richard A. Rosenbaum. He is predeceased by his brother, Harry Kelly Brown Jr. and sister-in-law, Carmen Brown. In addition he leaves behind other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Doyle Funeral Home Friday, October 3, 2025 from 11:00am - 1:00pm with a Service to begin at 1:00pm. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
