Beloved Milford Business Owner Seriously Injured, Community Assists
The owner's daughters and the local community are rallying to ensure that the business can remain vibrant while the owner recovers.

MILFORD, CT — The Canvas Patch's beloved owner Marti Reed recently fell in her store, and her family and the local community are stepping up to ensure that the long-time gift shop business can remain vibrant while Reed recovers from her injuries.
In a Facebook post, Reed's daughters, Susan and Carrie, said that their mother, Marti, fell and broke a hip while working at the 5 River St. store on Feb. 19.
"She's recovering from her surgery, but may be out of the store for many weeks. As you can imagine, that would be devastating and would threaten the viability of Milford's favorite gift shop," they wrote.

"Marti and her family will not let that happen! As a pillar of the community and lover of Milford, She has no intention of retiring or giving up, and neither do we! We all want to keep The Canvas Patch thriving, don't you too? This is where we need the Milford communitiessupport!" they wrote.
On weekends, Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12-4 p.m. Susan and Carrie will be taking over the store. They said they will have raffles, prizes, snacks, and of course fun.
