In this hands-on workshop,&nbsp;Robin Mazzola, Costume Shop Manager and Adjunct Professor of Theater at Wesleyan University, will guide you through techniques for&nbsp;strengthening, decorating, and restoring your garments or tote bags&nbsp;using visible mending.
This workshop is a great way to embrace&nbsp;slow fashion and sustainability, helping you extend the life of your favorite items while learning practical textile skills. Open to both beginner and experienced crafters, you’ll explore embroidery and patching techniques that make your repairs both functional and beautiful.
Your ticket also includes one free small coffee or tea from Walnut Beach Coffee House to enjoy while you create. 
What You’ll Learn:
<ul><li>How to use needles, stitches, and patches to repair holes, worn areas, or threadbare spots.</li><li>Techniques for creating&nbsp;decorative mends&nbsp;that enhance your items.</li><li>Tips to continue visible mending at home.</li></ul>
Materials &amp; Tools:
<ul><li>All materials are supplied, including needles, fabric scraps, embroidery floss, embroidery hoops, scissors, pins, and fabric marking tools.</li><li>Participants are welcome to bring their own scissors, needles, threads, and fabric scraps if they prefer.</li><li>Helpful items for detailed work: a neck light, headlamp, or small magnifying light.</li><li>Please bring at least&nbsp;one garment in need of repair&nbsp;to work on during class. The repair should be a hole, a small stain, or warn spot and not any major repairs like a broken zipper.</li></ul>
Garment Guidelines:

Frosty Twist Celebrates 15 Years in Milford with Anniversary Ribbon Cutting&nbsp;&nbsp;— Frosty Twist, a beloved Milford destination known for its ice cream and frozen treats is proud to celebrate its 15th Anniversary with a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at 22 Broad Street, Milford, Connecticut.
The celebration will feature remarks from Mayor Rich Smith, who will join owners, Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Milford Business Association and members of the community in commemorating this important milestone.

Connecticut Author Launches Multilingual Marian Outreach

MILFORD, CT — What began as a personal spiritual journey for writer and composer Barbara Oleynick has grown into an international Marian outreach reaching audiences across multiple languages through audiobooks, digital media, prayer resources, and now a new musical collaboration titled Songs of Mary – Blessed Is Her Name. Oleynick, creator of Blessed Is Her Name, has spent the past several years adapting the life of the Blessed Mother into a modern multimedia experience designed to bring peace, healing, and renewed faith to listeners around the world. The audiobook series is currently available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Tagalog, Croatian, Hindi, French, and Ukrainian, with narrators and collaborators from around the world helping bring the message to their local communities. “What has moved me most are the personal stories people are sharing,” Oleynick said. “Many have written saying they returned to prayer, returned to the Church, or found peace during periods of grief, trauma, loneliness, or uncertainty through Mary’s story.” The outreach has expanded rapidly online through YouTube, parish sharing networks, and social media platforms, where short devotional reflections and healing-centered messages have resonated with Catholics seeking hope and spiritual renewal. Among the newest initiatives is Walk With Mary to Jesus, a 44-day guided devotional journey inviting participants to reflect daily on the life of Mary through short readings, prayer, and personal reflection. Oleynick is also working with an international creative team on Songs of Mary – Blessed Is Her Name, a new musical collaboration inspired by the spiritual themes found throughout the project.
