Second Saturday Workshop and Session with David & Patrick Doocey
The PV O’Donnell Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is delighted to welcome brothers Patrick and David Doocey, two outstanding musicians of Irish traditional music with strong ties to both the United States and County Mayo.

Patrick Doocey (Guitar): An All-Ireland winning multi-instrumentalist, Patrick is recognized as one of the most versatile and sought-after accompanists in the genre today.
- Style: Predominantly self-taught, he seamlessly blends traditional Irish structures with modern influences on both nylon and steel-string guitar.
- Experience: Now based in NYC, his career has spanned four continents. He has toured and recorded with iconic acts such as Lúnasa, Sharon Shannon, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Téada.
David Doocey (Fiddle & Concertina): Widely regarded as a leading light of his generation, David’s playing is celebrated for its technical precision and expressive depth.
- Accolades: A multi-All-Ireland champion and winner of the first World Fleadh Fiddle Championship, David is a frequent tutor at the renowned Willie Clancy Summer School.
- Projects: His solo debut, Changing Time, was hailed as a landmark fiddle album. He recently released a new collaborative project with NxNW and has shared the stage with legends like Martin Hayes, Dervish, and Emmylou Harris.
