Bonfire Grille

The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Central and Western District&nbsp;will host a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Connecticut on Monday, Oct. 19 from 4-8 p.m. at Bonfire Grille&nbsp;in Milford. 

During the event, law enforcement will join restaurant staff in serving and interactions with customers while helping raise funds that provide year-round opportunities for Special Olympics athletes. The money raised through Tip-A-Cop helps fund programs that directly benefit athletes, including sports training and competition, equipment, coaching, and tournaments.&nbsp; 

The impact of donations extends beyond the playing field. Fundraising supports Healthy Athletes programs that provide free health screenings and education, fitness and wellness initiatives, athlete leadership opportunities, and Unified Sports, which bring athletes with and without intellectual disabilities together as teammates. 
 “When you tip a cop, you are leaving more than a tip. You are helping create opportunities, build confidence, and empower athletes to reach their dreams,” Sgt. Nikki Mordasiewicz of the Hartford Police Department said. “Together, we serve, support, and make a difference for Special Olympics Connecticut.” 
Tip-A-Cop fundraisers provide law enforcement with an opportunity to strengthen its connection with the community while continuing to inspire inclusion for people of all abilities. All tips received will be dedicated to helping Special Olympics Connecticut provide life-changing sports, health, and fitness programs to athletes of all abilities. Tip-A-Cop is a Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut event.

On October19th, 2026, from 1:00-4:00 pm, The Milford Library is hosting a Medicare Workshop for anyone that is or will be Medicare eligible on or before January 1, 2027.This Workshop will not only be reviewing key Medicare Plans available for 2027, but we will assist you in your actual enrollment. And no worries, we can help you with either a Supplement or a Medicare Advantage plan.The choice is always yours.
Our Workshop will commence with an overview of the market and move quickly on to actual details of key plans for the first hour.&nbsp; After this initial hour we will have enrollment assistance available throughout the next 2 hours and/or via appointment.&nbsp; Please feel free to come any time throughout the scheduled Workshop.&nbsp; One-on-one assistance after the first hour wil be done in order of your request via sign-up sheets. Should you wish to bring your own laptop to look up your drugs or providers, please feel free to do so.&nbsp;

Fall is here, and Milford Open Mic is returning to SBC Restaurant for another full night of live music, great food, creativity, and community in Downtown Milford.
Join us for our October edition as 15 local performers take the stage to share what they do. You might hear an original song followed by a completely unexpected cover, a storyteller, a comedian, a poet, or even a magician. That variety is a big part of what makes Milford Open Mic what it is.
Whether you are performing, coming out to support someone you know, or simply looking for something different to do on a Monday night, everyone is welcome.
Music begins at 6 PM.
Couldn’t register online? Five in-person performance slots will be available on a first come, first served basis beginning at 5 PM.
Our Famous Raffle Returns at 8:30 PM
Everyone who attends receives one raffle ticket just for showing up. No purchase is necessary.
Want an additional raffle ticket? Wear your Milford Open Mic shirt or hat and receive a second ticket.
You must be present at 8:30 PM to win.
Great Food and Live Music at SBC
One of the best parts of holding Milford Open Mic at SBC is being able to turn the event into a full night out. Grab dinner, order a drink, settle in, and enjoy three hours of local entertainment.
Here are two SBC menu choices worth checking out this month:
Salmon Piccata
Pan-seared Atlantic salmon served with a lemon caper pan sauce, wilted spinach, and smashed Yukon potatoes. It is a great choice if you want a full dinner while still keeping things a little lighter. SBC customers have specifically called out their salmon as a standout.
Chicken Alfredo
A comforting fall dinner featuring creamy Alfredo sauce, roasted broccoli, bacon, and your choice of grilled or blackened chicken tossed with rigatoni. It is hearty, familiar, and has also earned praise from SBC customers.
Planning a Party or Celebration?
SBC also has a spacious back room available for private parties, gatherings, celebrations, and special events. Milford Open Mic is a great opportunity to experience the food, service, atmosphere, and community feel of SBC firsthand.
What to Expect
• 15 artists performing throughout the evening • Two songs or up to ten minutes per performer • Music, poetry, storytelling, magic, and more • Professional sound system • Two house microphones • Inputs for guitars, keyboards, and acoustic-friendly gear • House cajon available • Supportive, family-friendly atmosphere • Great food and drinks available throughout the night • A welcoming crowd that genuinely appreciates local talent
We ask everyone to support the person on stage by keeping conversations for the in-between transitions. Every performer deserves the chance to have the room while they are sharing what they do.
Performance Sign-Ups
• 10 of our 15 performance slots open online at 9 AM the day after the last open mic at <a href="https://www.milfordopenmic.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">milfordopenmic.com</a> (So these are already claimed)
• Five in-person slots will be available the night of the event
• In-person sign-ups begin at 5 PM and are first come, first served
• Performers receive two songs or up to ten minutes, whichever comes first
