CALL TO ARTISTS-MAC & Milford Trees Present "Arboretum of Art"

Milford Arts Council & Milford Trees present Arboretum of Art, an exhibit celebrating trees, September 9-November 13, 2015 at the Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Avenue, Milford. An Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2015 5:30-7:00 PM. The Receiving date for artwork is Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 10 AM-6 PM at the Center for the Arts. Artist Entry fees are $25 for one piece, $35 for two. MAC members will get $5.00 off entry fee.

Theme: Artists are encouraged to think “out of the box” and submit work in which trees are the inspiration. Trees as the subject matter can be literal or interpretive. Work can focus on the entire tree or on a specific part of the tree (leaves, twigs, bark, root, etc). Symbolism can be used (“tree of life”, “family tree”, etc.) ALL mediums are welcome (oil, acrylic, photography, sculpture, 3-dimensional, mixed media, collage, jewelry, also pieces made out of wood, bark, leaves, twigs, seed pods and other unique materials (metal, fabric, recycled, upcycled, etc.) are welcome and strongly encouraged!.

Artist Requirements:

Only original pieces will be accepted. All work should be recently completed.

All work must be framed and wired, ready to hang and not exceed 36” x 24” or 50lbs in weight.

Sculpture and three dimensional works are welcome, but, please include display stand.

All works may be for sale, 30% commission on sales to MAC.

This an open entry show. Jurors will select prize winners.
