Caretaker Charged In Connection With Woman’s Death: Milford PD
A Milford man has been charged in connection with an elderly woman's death, which was ruled a homicide nearly three years ago.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford man is accused of abusing an elderly woman who was found dead nearly three years ago, according to police. Michael O’Connell, 64, was arrested on a warrant Friday following a long investigation into the woman’s death, which was ruled a homicide.
O’Connell was the caretaker of the woman, who was found dead May 16, 2017, according to police. Milford police received a 211 call around 11 p.m. that night requesting a welfare check on the woman, officials said.
“When officers arrived, the elderly female was found unresponsive,” officials wrote in a news release. “Milford Fire Department Paramedics were called to the scene and determined she was deceased. An autopsy was conducted and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s report determined the manner of death to be a homicide and the cause of death to be dehydration and malnutrition complicating dementia and non-prescribed Amitiptyline and Perphenazine administration.”
