Church Vandal Also Assaulted Woman In Hate Crime: Milford PD

He told detectives he vandalized the church because it supported the LGBT agenda, police said.

MILFORD, CT — The Tennessee man accused of a hate crime against Mary Taylor Church was additionally charged with other alleged hate crimes, according to police.

Police served two additional warrants of Charles Yarbrough, 30, of Nashville July 25. He is accused of slashing two chairs and a banister inside the church on June 27, which occurred before his first arrest, police said.

He also punched a female in the face on June 30 on Factory Lane near Armory Square, police said.

He was additionally charged with hate crime, first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault and second-degree intimidation based on bigotry/bias. Bond was set at $50,000.

Yarbrough has been incarcerated since his first arrest July 1. He told detectives during his first arrest that he entered the church and damaged an office door because he felt the pastor and church were supporting the LGBT agenda, police said.
