City Of Milford Plans Veterans Day Events

A virtual ceremony will be held Nov. 8.

The Veterans Ceremony and Parade Commission (VCPC) will host a virtual Veterans Day ceremony on Sunday, November 8th starting at 1:00 pm. The ceremony will begin with a patriotic performance by the Milford Concert Band at 1:00pm with the formal programming beginning at 2:00pm. Guest speakers include Brigadier General Ralph Hedenberg, Director of the Joint Staff, CT Army National Guard and Mr. Robert Lougee. Mr. Lougee’s grandfather entered WW1 from Milford and his grandfather’s name is engraved on the Milford WW1 monument in front of City Hall.

The City of Milford’s Veterans Day Wreath Laying Ceremony will be held Wednesday, November 11th, at 11:00am, in front of Milford City Hall. The ceremony commemorates the Armistice that was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, and Milford’s Veteran Service Organizations along with other patriotic organizations will place a single wreath around the Milford WW1 monument.
