Community Rallies Around Longtime Milford Bartender
A bartender who's been serving drinks for over three decades is encountering health issues.
MILFORD, CT — The community is coming to the aid of a bartender who has "been part of Lasse's family for an incredible 32 years."
Lasse's of Milford posted Thursday, stating that the bartender, Dan Sullivan, "is currently dealing with some health issues that have prevented him from working."
A GoFundMe was started by Trish Pihonak to support Sullivan.

"For decades, he’s poured drinks, shared his snarly personality that people grew to tolerate and most that loved," the GoFundMe reads. "He remembered names, and helped make Lasse’s feel like home for so many of us.
"Today, we’re calling on our amazing Lasse’s community to help support Dan during this time. We know times are tough for everyone, but if you’re able, we ask you to open your hearts and contribute to Dan’s GoFundMe page. Every donation — big or small — will help ease the financial stress while he focuses on his health and recovery."

As of Friday afternoon, $3,500 out of a $40,000 goal had been raised.

Lasse's Restaurant at 611 Bridgeport Ave. has been in business since 1964 and is famous for its hot roast beef sandwiches, according to its website.
