MILFORD, CT — The Planning and Zoning Commission tabled a decision on whether to grant approval to a condominium development expansion.

The developer of Caswell Cove condominiums wants to add 44 units to the property, which would bring the total number of units up to 248. A previous approved site plan would allow for 300 total units, said attorney Steven Bellis, who is representing the applicant, Primrose Development and the condominium association. The current proposal calls for less density than was initially approved, he said.

City Planning and Zoning officials noted the application is substantially compliant with city regulations. The city engineering department noted erosion along the banks of the Housatonic River on the property and suggested it be addressed.

About ten members of the public voiced opposition to the plan, and three were in favor during the April 19 meeting.

“Most of what we’ve heard during these proceedings are internal issues between members of the association and have no bearing on the application that was submitted to you,” City Planner David Sulkis said during the meeting to commissioners.
