Connecticut Post Mall Initiates New Policy After Massive Brawls

BREAKING: The new policy goes into effect at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27.

MILFORD, CT — After large fights broke out at the Connecticut Post Mall involving numerous groups of teens Thursday, mall officials announced that they have instituted a new parental escort policy, which goes into effect 3 p.m. Friday and continues through the end of the weekend.

The fights forced the mall to close temporarily Thursday night. The new policy requires guests under 18 years of age to be accompanied by an adult. The Connecticut Post Mall, 1201 Boston Post Road, is the state's largest mall.

PARENTAL ESCORT POLICY IN EFFECT

We welcome guests of all ages to Connecticut Post Mall; however, the mall will immediately institute a Parental Escort Policy (PEP) for guests under the age of 18. This policy will be in effect from 3:00pm to 9:00pm on December 27 and from 1:00pm until close on Saturday and Sunday, December 28-29.

Policy: Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older during designated Parental Escort Policy days/hours.

One adult may supervise up to 4 youths during the parental escort hours. Anyone 21 years or younger should be prepared to show one of the following forms of photo identification:

  • United States Driver's License
  • United States State-issued I.D.
  • Resident Alien Card
  • Passport
  • United States Military I.D.
  • Mexican Consulate I.D.
  • Canadian I.D.

No form of college or high school I.D. will be accepted, even if accompanied by a state driver's license permit application. To obtain a Connecticut State Identification Card, contact your local driver exam office or driver's license renewal office.

The Parental Escort Policy will be strictly enforced.

The mall is anchored by Macy’s, Boscov's, and Target, and this indoor shopping center offers a collection of over 150 stores to choose from. The shopping center features a Cinemark 14+Imax Theater, plus Dave & Busters, Dick's Sporting Goods, Forever 21, H&M, LA Fitness, Ulta, and Victoria's Secret to name a few. Restaurants include: Bar Louie or Buffalo Wild Wings and a food court area.
