Dirt-bike Stop Yields Arrest

A motorcyclist driving without lights on has been slapped with numerous charges, police said.

The man, identified as Christian Morales, 21, of Bridgeport, was arrested 11:30 p.m. Friday, after a police officer saw a "dirt-bike style motorcycle" with no illuminated lights traveling along the Boston Post Road, according to police.

"During a stop of the vehicle, the officer found that it was not properly registered, had no insurance coverage and that Morales' license privilege was suspended since January of 2011," police said.

"Further investigation revealed that the vehicle identification number for the motorcycle had been altered making it illegible," police added. "The motorcycle was towed from the scene."

Morales was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle, mutilated vehicle identification number, no insurance, operating a vehicle with no lights, and operating with a suspended license privilege, according to police.

He was released on a $1,000 bond pending a court date, police said.
