CT Weather: New Heat Wave Emerges In Forecast, More Storms Too
The National Weather Service also reports on damage from Thursdays storms in Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — We get a one-day reprieve from the hot and humid weather Friday and then it's right back to 90 degree weather this weekend, which is forecast to continue into early next week.
Besides the ongoing heat and humidity the weather pattern looks largely tranquil this weekend with sunshine dominating. There is a 30 percent chance for storms in southern Connecticut this afternoon but that is about it.
Tuesday appears to be our next chance at widespread thunderstorms. On Monday, northern areas of the state may approach 100 degrees.

On Thursday, strong storms knocked out power to thousands of residents, caused flooding of roads and knocked trees and utility poles down in areas including Vernon, Farmington, Hartford, Tolland, Windsor Locks, according to the National Weather Service's storm reports.
A lightning strike caused a small electrical fire in Bethel and trees were knocked down in Orange, the weather service reports.

WTNH News 8 Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons said "Lots of clouds expected for the day today and some breaks of sunshine too! A minor shower chance in eastern Connecticut later this afternoon. Most places will stay dry with high temperatures in the 80s today. A little bit less humid today. Get ready for some nice weather this weekend with sunshine Saturday and Sunday and high temperatures going from 80s tomorrow to 90s Monday! Another heat wave Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!"
