CT Weather: 2 Tornadoes May Have Touched Down On Saturday
Local meteorologists said two tornadoes touched down in Connecticut on Saturday as severe weather moved through the state.
CONNECTICUT — Severe storms rolled through the state on Saturday afternoon and suspected tornadoes touched down in Branford/Guilford and Plainfield/Sterling, according to Connecticut's leading meteorologists.
NBC Connecticut Chief Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan said on Twitter that he believes there were two tornadoes that occurred across the state on Saturday. (Read more about NBC CT's coverage of the tornadoes here).
Nearly 10,000 residents are currently without power, including: 1,537 in Guilford, 750 in Branford, and 750 in Stonington.

To summarize there were likely two tornadoes in CT today. One in Branford/Guilford and another in Plainfield/Sterling. Neither had warnings but radar confirmed lofted tornado debris with both. Hopefully most of signal was leaves.

Once the storm departed around 6 p.m., temperatures dropped considerably and Connecticut will see much cooler weather next week. Winds will still be strong Saturday night.

Sunday: Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a high near 52. Southwest wind around 8 mph.
Sunday Night: A chance of showers between 10pm and 1am. Areas of frost after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 4pm. Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 52. West wind 6 to 15 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35. West wind 9 to 15 mph.
