David DeLuca, age 100, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Jean Daley DeLuca, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. David was born in Pescara, a province of Abruzzo in Italy on January 30, 1925, to the late Joseph and Filomena Dorazio DeLuca. He came to the United States when he was eight years old. David was a proud US Navy Veteran and was a machinist at AVCO Lycoming for many years. David was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family hosting Sunday dinners for many years. He was an avid gardener and had a green thumb growing plants in anything available including the drum of a discarded washing machine in which he grew a fig tree. David immensely enjoyed bowling in various leagues, cutthroat bocci, and shooting pool. Survivors include his children: Diane Lester of West Haven, Dawn Kindilien of West Haven, Debra DeLuca of Milford and David DeLuca and his wife Karen of Milford, six grandchildren, Jaime Williams (Germaine), Damien DeLuca, Daniel Lester (Jill), Kyle Johnson (Mary), Amber DeLuca and Kari Brinsco (Michael), and 13 great-grandchildren. David was predeceased by many siblings. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 25 th at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish). Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
