Details Released For United Way Duck Race In Milford

MILFORD, CT – We are happy to report that the Annual Milford United Way Duck Race is ‘ON’ – and we can’t wait to bring thousands of families, friends, neighbors, and citizens to the downtown area. The fun will take place on Saturday, JUNE 7th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Fowler Memorial Bridge (downtown) – right in the hub of our beautiful city – when up to 10,000 yellow rubber ducks will be released into Milford Harbor.

In case you are not familiar with the Duck Race, your Milford United Way organizes this fundraiser every year, where folks are able to ‘adopt’ a small yellow duck for $5.00 (each one has a distinct number of the bottom). On race day at 12:00 noon, the highly anticipated ‘Duck Drop’ takes place and, as the ducks make their way to the finish line, they are retrieved for a variety of incredible prizes.

More than 50 prizes are up for grabs, including some high-ticket items as grand prizes.
A second part of the project is our $100 ‘High Stakes’ tickets. Tickets are priced at $100 each – with only 3 prizes available – 1st place: $2,500; 2nd place: $1,500; and 3rd place: $1,000.

In addition, a Vendors Show will be located at the Fowler Rotary Pavilion, as well as a variety of children’s activities and several food trucks. In other words, FUN for everyone!

Proceeds from the Duck Race event are redirected right back into the Milford community as we help address the most pressing challenges we currently face: Food Insecurity, Unstable Shelter, and Mental Health & Well-Being, along with a new arm of Milford United Way’s work: Education & Training.
