Obituary: Donald F. Moore, 76, Of Milford
Proud Navy Veteran, Husband, Father, and Grandfather

Donald F. Moore of Milford, beloved husband of Audrey J Moore for 55 years, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2025 at his home, with family at his side. He was born December 14, 1948 in St Johnsbury, Vermont to the late Gayland and Beverly Moore. Donald is predeceased by his brothers, Dennis and Robert John.
Don proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a mechanic repairing Tango River boats, among others. Don earned many awards, but was most proud of the Presidential Unit Citation which is awarded for extraordinary heroism in battle. He was honored to be a member of VFW 7788, American Legion 196, Vietnam Veterans of America 251, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Assoc. Chapter 31-2, American Legion Riders Chapter 196, and Milford Veterans, Ceremony and Parade Commission.
Throughout Donald’s lifetime he enjoyed being part of The Milford Shoreliner’s Drum & Bugle Corp. He carved a totem pole for Boy Scout camp Sequassen, earning him the nickname “Chipper”. He loved painting landscapes and seascapes, a big fan of N.E. Patriots, but most of all he loved going for rides on his trike.

In addition to his wife Audrey, Don will be sadly missed by his son Donald P Moore and his wife Brandy, and grandchildren Donald J P Moore and Joshua R Moore.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am – 11:00am on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Funeral Service with Military Honors will follow at Woodmont United Church of Christ, Milford at 11:30am. Interment will be at the convenience of Don’s family.
