Doris E. Turbeville

Loving Mother, Loving Grandmother and Great-Grandmother

Doris Evelyn (Wilkins) Turbeville, 102, of Orange CT died peacefully on April 12, 2025. She was the daughter of Cecil and Thetus Wilkins of Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was pre- deceased by her husband, Allen Sanders Turbeville (2019) after 75 years of marriage. She is survived by her 4 children Betty Morgan (Arthur Rosen) of Framingham, MA, Susan Cline of Ashby, MA, Allen Robert Turbeville of Derby, CT and John Allen Turbeville (Elaine) of Orange, CT, and her sister-in-law, Jane Montgomery of Milford, CT. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jamie (Amparo), John Robert (Jennifer), and Michael Turbeville, Sarah and John Allen Turbeville and Amy Erickson (Pete), Adam (Nicole) Cline and Laura Cline as well as ten great grandchildren.

Doris was born in South Carolina and moved to New England after her marriage. She worked repairing oriental rugs for many years and enjoyed a variety of art endeavors including oil painting, ceramics, weaving and rug hooking. She loved traveling to the Southwest along with her husband.
She was a wonderful mother and valued her family above all else. She showed her children how to lead lives that were full of adventure and wonder by taking us to musicals, art museums, movies and baseball games, expanding our world with the love of these things and a greater appreciation of all life had to offer. She will be sorely missed.

The family would like to thank the staff at Carriage Green in Milford, CT and the staff at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stratford, CT for the wonderful care they provided to Mom for the past several years.
