Dorothy M. Kalakay, age 89, beloved wife of Michael R. Kalakay, Jr. of Milford, entered peaceful rest on March 21, 2025.
She was born on June 1, 1935 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late James and Susan (Convertito) Valentine. Dorothy worked as a Laboratory Technician for Quest Diagnostics for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Christ the Redeemer Ladies Guild and a coordinator of the Beautiful Woman of Christ the Redeemer Knitting Group.
In addition to her devoted husband of 64 years, Dorothy leaves her loving daughter, Theresa E. DeRosa of West Haven and her grandsons, Dominic DeRosa (Tara Sokol) and Nicholas DeRosa and her great granddaughter, Lily Sokol-DeRosa. She also leaves her sister, Susan Ellis and her niece, Leigh Trayer and many dear friends. Her sister, Jane Ellison predeceased her.

Family and Friends may call on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Road, Milford with interment to follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Milford.
