DUI Woman Hits Building, Leads To Evacuations: Milford Police
Police say the building was damaged after the accident and deemed unsafe by local officials.
MILFORD, CT — An Ansonia woman is accused of driving while under the influence at the time of an accident where her car struck a building on Cherry Street which led to evacuations, Milford Police said.
On Aug. 17, police responded to the accident at 1 Cherry Street. Police say Marie Verrilli, 29, of Tremont Street in Ansonia, is accused of driving her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
She provided a breath sample which showed her to have elevated blood alcohol content, police said.

The building was deemed unsafe to occupy by the building inspector and fire department and the residents needed to be evacuated, police said. Police say Verrilli's license was also suspended at the time of the accident.
She is charged with DUI and reckless driving. Her court date is Sept. 12.
